The mobile merry-go-round continues apace with the confirmation from MWC 09 that Vodafone will be the exclusive carrier for the G2. Codenamed "Magic", this deal for its manufacturere, HTC, gives Vodafone an exclusive covering all Europe and is set to be the long-awaited G1 rival users have been waiting for. It sports a 3.2Meg camera, no keyboard, the same WiFi/3G//GPS features as the G1 and also, crucially, the "cupcake" software release which fixes many bugs in the current G1 release.

The G2 is much more iPhone-like than the G1. With no keyboard the cupcake software is essential, as a soft keyboard is one of the features it provides.
