Long recognised as the handset that kept Motorola afloat, the RAZR has a special place in many a mobile users heart (and pocket). Its also a well known fact Motorola are frantically working to thrash out a line of Android handsets later this year. So when news came out regarding the third generation RAZR, the VE1, it wasn't entirely a suprise to hear the rumours of there being a distinct possiblility it will run Android.
Motorola chief Greg Brown has defended the manufacturer’s state of health, and said he expects the business to improve in the second quarter. Brown told the Financial Times that the company’s mobile devices unit should report a reduced operating loss in the second quarter of this year. He said the unit would not be shut or combined with a rival. Last month, Motorola reported a 51% fall in phone sales, as it slid to the number five position in the handset manufacturer market.

Details of the VE1 are scarce. it is rumoured to have a 3MP camera and 6GB of internal memory, with dedicated multimedia controls. This sure looks like the grandchild of the RAZR - we'll bring more news as soon as we get it.
