The Android scene gets hotter and hotter as more details emerge from the manufacturers all joining the party. This time its the turn of LG, who have been famously tight-lipped up until more details of the GW620 surfaced on the web. Although this should most definitely be filed in the "rumour" folder, there are some tantalising details regarding their supposed new Android baby.

The way this info came about was a little sneaky. With all their internet-connected devices, manufacturers often prepare in advance an XML file which describes at machine level what the device is capable of. This sits on a server and is used pre-launch for testers to ensure it is compatible and works as described from day 1 - but of course these files have to be present prior to then for the testers to see them. It looks like one of these has been analysed and the specs for the new device derived from that. We have MIDI, WAV, MP3, WMA, M4A and WMV, MPEG4, H.264, ASF, 3GP plus SyncML in a 20 x 480 pixel (half-VGA) display with a real QWERTY keyboard. Yummy.

Recently the FCC have cleared the LG GW600 for approval at AT&T. This however is a Windows Mobile device, so it remains to be seen if the detective work related to the GW620 is on the money regarding Android.
