creative-logoCreative have announced the Zii Egg, an Android device supporting 2 cameras, HD playback and multitouch! However, there is a slight catch - its for developers only, so consumers won't be buying one in their high streets any time soon. In fact, they might not ever under the Zii name as Creative specifically want OEM's to take their platform and rebrand it. The 32GB model costs $400, and full kudos goes to them for throwing the doors open to the open source community.

This is an interesting development for Android because there is little mention of the phone capabilities and much more on the media player - almost as if this platform would rather go for the iPod touch market and let the traditional handset manufacturers target the iPhone with their Android offerings.

The Wi-Fi-enabled device also boasts a GPS receiver, forward and rear facing cameras, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, SDHC card slot, 256MB RAM, up to 64GB of storage, X-Fi audio tech, accelerometer and a headphone socket.
