Samsung has announced the Behold II Android powered smartphone. To be carried via T-Mobile and launched at the end of the year, this is the first Android handset Samsung will release in the US. The Behold I was a hit last year with its touch screen and TouchWiz interface, but it seems Samsung are happy to do what Sony Ericsson are doing with their X range and keep the brand name whilst changing the underlying OS.
The Behold has the same screen size as Samsungs first Android handset, the Galaxy, at 3.2 inches, a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, support for Microsoft Exchange and Google Services and up to 16GB memory store via its microSD slot.

The handset is scheduled to launch "later this year", i.e. before Christmas. Pricing and availability, as well as any news of a UK launch for the device, are unknown. |
