Hi,

I'm really keen to get started, and searched Amazon for 'Android Programming'. There are quite a few titles listed - Are there any that anybody here can recommend?

I got "Android: A Developers Guide" by Jerome Dimarzio

very good if you are coming from a C++ background

I purchased "Hello, Android: Introducing Google's Mobile Development Platform" by Ed Burnette. It isn't a bad book although it is a little short. However I have been working with Java for over 10 years, so I cannot pass any judgement on whether or not it would be as useful to someone coming from a non-Java background.
