I tried the Hello world example running in eclipse on Ubuntu. I keep getting a Phone exception or something everytime I run it from eclipse. Anyone else with that experience? The app runs fine after I click it away

All my Android work so far has been on XP and I've had no problems. However I did try on Ubuntu (8.10) as I have Ganymede running fine. What I found was wierd - the Android emulator hung as it started up, just after the white text on the black screen showing A N D R O I D appeared. I did use the latest java SE SDK from Sun which I installed myself, rather than apt-get, but I would have though if the java installation was broken Eclipse wouldn't have loaded. I'm posting this here in case someone else encounters this problem. I will try under Fedora 10 and if thats ok revist Ubuntu.
