TOPIC: Problems or Opportunities? Android Dev NYC

Problems or Opportunities? Android Dev NYC 2 years, 6 months ago #248

I'm representing a client that got in on the ground floor of Iphone 20 years ago with when they were @ neXT Computer. They are now a growing powerhouse in the expanding Android market Now they create applications that integrate. They think Devs should be using more of their talent to build incredible apps instead of generating the economic analysis of their use; thereby making the decision easier for users to download and love the app

they have 3-4 openings - ideally would like candidates with experience on other mobile platforms also. This is their most urgent need. Solid engineering background or experience if they don't have a CS degree.

This is a key role on what we call our client engineering team (client meaning mobile device). You'll be building both iterative and substantial revisions to our flagship tracking and ad SDKs for Android devices and will have an integral role in our engineering organization. This is a developer tools job and you'll have the opportunity to interact with, teach and learn from many of the top developers on the Android platform as well as learn and work on other emerging mobile platforms as well.

We touch upon just about every framework in the Android SDK and stay at the frontend of the curve as Google pushes out new releases. Our clients expect us to lead and we work hard to deliver rock solid code, dead simple APIs and a phenomenal end user experience.

Performance analysis and tuning will also be a significant responsibility in your job. Given the limited resources of mobile devices we need to squeeze every last bit of performance we can get - and then some. Experience developing applications that perform well, use as few resources as possible while still being responsive to users is expected. You should be able to step back and look at a problem in different light to identify an approach that improves performance.

About You

You have a track record writing multi-threaded code and experience with synchronous and asynchronous code.

Algorithms and data structures are your friends.

You see problems as opportunities and have what it takes to effectively communicate, brainstorm and collaborate to work through them.

You're more than comfortable with *nix-based operating systems.

More About You
