I read somewhere that Google may release a 'Dev' version of the G1, specifically for Android Developers - hardware and Sim unlocked.

Does anybody have any information on whether / where these are available, and how you would go about qualifying as an Android Developer?

It's true Google have released a 'Dev' version of the G1, it's great news.

They are available now for $399 USD + Shipping.

All you have to do to qualify as a Android developer is get your self an account on the Android market place, this cost $25 USD and allows you to upload your applications to the marketplace.
