TOPIC: Swing Layouts

Swing Layouts 3 years, 4 months ago #75

I am starting a large project that involves porting a J2SE application to the android platform, this application is quite GUI intensive, Has anybody seen anything that can port the Swing layouts into the Android format?

Not heard of anything to do this.
I think doing it at the XML level would be the way to go, as Android talks this way natively. Then you could use tools like jEasy (www.jeasy.de/). I would be concerned over the impedance mismatch between the controls in each environment though, and for that matter its not just a UI problem, you have the event handler flows to tackle.

That is a shame, I just wanted a way to avoid the drudgery of typing in the layouts again, wasn't looking for silver bullet solution that would convert J2SE applications to Android.
